Swiss Premiere: Haynes Robinson's Fresco in Etoy
Label STEP licensee Pfister dedicates a special exhibition to Haynes Robinson’s latest collection named Fresco. The exhibition opens its doors on February 11th 2010 in Etoy.
The Gabbeh is Switzerland’s favourite carpet since many years. These Iranian nomad carpets look back on a long tradition. They became very popular in Switzerland when their designs were modernized in the 1980’s. The Gabbeh’s success is owed to the superb wool quality, the use of natural dyes and the traditional weaving technique of the nomads.
In year 2000 the US designer Haynes Robinson and his Iranian partners Hamed Derakhshan and Behrouz Sarlak introduced the Sahar Collection, a collection rooted from Gabbehs of the highest level. They have combined their creative designs with the fantasy and free interpretation of the nomad weavers. The results are unique pieces of art for the floor or walls.
The designs of the new line in the "Sahar" collection, "Fresco" reminds of weathered frescoes, the carpets owe their charisma to the use of high quality, naturally dyed wool and silk and to the masterly weaving. For the first time in Switzerland Fresco can be seen in a comprehensive exhibition from February 11th on at Pfister in Etoy.
